President Martinelli offers ore to investors
This past Wednesday Panama's President Martinelli promised to change the mining legislation to attract capital and exploit the resources of the country in a meeting with more than 200 hundred entrepreneurs from around the world.
The head of state assured that Korea, as a country, has shown interest in investing on the mining industry and if he needs to change the Mining Code, he will.
“We will be more than glad to modify it [the law]. I want the Korean Government, along with Canadian and American, Stock Market's shareholders, to develop that mine [copper deposit in Cerro Colorado, within the Ngäbe Buglé]” said Martinelli.
Panama has great opportunities
in mine exploitation, and Cerro Colorado has reservations proven to be
larger the Chile's Teniente Mine, according to the leader.
LS-Nikko Cooper and the state´s Kores (Natural Resources Corporation), both Korean companies, want to exploit Cerro Colorado's copper mine, according to the embassy of this country in Panama.
